A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a young father died in a collision.

Scott Irwin, 23, of Cookley, Worcestershire, died when a Rover 216 car collided with a white Ford Transit van in Kidderminster on 31 March.

A 24-year-old man is due to appear before the town's magistrates on 4 September.

Three others were seriously hurt in the crash at the junction of the A451 Minster Road and Oldington Lane.

The 18-year-old driver of the white Rover, and two passengers, a girl and boy aged 17, suffered serious injuries.

Mr Irwin was a front-seat passenger in the car.

The driver of the Rover was arrested on 31 May, also on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but no further action has been taken against him, West Mercia Police said.
