Bridge work starting a year late

Teme Bridge, Worcester
The bridge is more than 200 years old and needs repairing

Engineering work on a bridge in Worcester which is expected to last six weeks has begun - a year after it had been planned to start.

The repair work on the Powick New Bridge, which stands over the River Teme, had been scheduled for last summer, but flooding meant a delay.

More than 20,000 motorists use the 200-year-old bridge every day going into the city.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays while the work continues.
