A seven-week-old kitten was found dumped in a carrier bag in a shopping trolley in the second incident of its kind in as many weeks in Worcester.

RSPCA inspectors said the female kitten was found by a Sainsbury's store, in Blackpole Road, on Thursday night.

Vets said she was severely dehydrated and had worms. She received antibiotics and is said to be doing well.

Two other kittens are in RSPCA care after being found dumped in a bin bag in Langdale Park on 8 July.

RSPCA inspector Neil Tysall said: "I cannot believe how anyone could do something so heartless.

"The person dumped this kitten leaving it to die. They have committed a criminal offence and that is why I am urging anyone with information to please come forward and help me with my enquiries."
