Campaigners fought for the site to be used for wildlife

A Worcestershire nature reserve has been presented with a Green Flag for the first time.

St Wulstans Nature Reserve, near Upper Welland in Malvern Hills, is among 42 Green Flags awarded to parks and green spaces across the West Midlands.

Campaigners fought to save and transform the site, which used to form part of St Wulstans Hospital, when the hospital closed in the early 1990s.

Green Flags are used to recognise top quality parks across the country.
