More smokers quitting in county

The ban on smoking in public places is being credited with helping more people quit the addiction in Worcestershire.

More than 3,000 people have successfully quit smoking in the county in the past year, according to recent NHS figures.

Worcestershire Primary Care Trust said the numbers wanting to quit peaked in the run up to the ban.

It said the number went up again during the winter months, particularly after the festive period.
