Jam factory turns into fruit mill

A former jam factory in Herefordshire could be turned into one of Europe's biggest fruit mills.

Universal Beverages wants to transform a former Robertson's factory in Ledbury into a plant capable of processing 15,000 tonnes of fruit a week.

The firm has signed a deal to press and mill all apples for Bulmers, a cider company.

Herefordshire Council's planning committee will meet to discuss the application later.
