'Dangerous man' hunted by police

Giles Harvey
Giles Harvey pleaded not guilty to the offence at magistrates' court

A man who carried out a vicious attack in a pub is being looked for by police.

Staffordshire Police are looking for Giles Harvey, 35, from Stafford, who they called a "danger to the public".

He was found guilty in his absence at Stafford Crown Court of wounding but he absconded on 28 April, the day before his trial began.

The court heard he "repeatedly hit" a man over the head with a bar stool. The victim received seven wounds, all of which needed treatment.

Harvey had earlier pleaded not guilty.
