Arson ruled out over tyre blaze

Nobody was hurt in the incident in Malvern

Investigators have ruled out arson as a cause of a large blaze at a tyre factory in Worcestershire.

About 30 firefighters were at the scene in Spring Lane Industrial Estate in Malvern throughout the night.

Explosions were heard coming from the building, which belongs to Auto Tyres and Batteries, and part of the structure had collapsed.

Fire chiefs said up to 5,000 new tyres had caught fire, which had hampered attempts to control the blaze.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.

At the height of the blaze, which started on Thursday evening, a plume of smoke could be seen rising above Malvern Link.
