Council lifts ban on new houses
A ban on building new homes in a Worcestershire town has been lifted in order to meet future housing demand.

Redditch Borough Council stopped giving permission for new developments in 2006 because it had met a government target of building 4,500 by 2011.

But the council is under pressure to build more homes by 2026.

A further 3,000 homes could be built in Redditch under the proposals which are being considered by the West Midlands Regional Assembly.
