Flood barriers in Upton-upon-Severn
Barriers remain in place in Upton-upon-Severn
A severe flood warning is in place along the River Severn in north Worcestershire.

The Environment Agency has issued the warning for people living in and around Bewdley and Stourport-on-Severn.

An agency spokeswoman said flooding would mainly affect roads and a handful of properties. River levels are expected to peak on Wednesday morning.

Flood warnings are also in place along the Severn around Worcester and Upton-upon-Severn.

Flood barriers are in place at Bewdley, Worcester and Upon-upon-Severn.

An Environment Agency spokeswoman said the river stood at 4.81m (15.8ft) on Tuesday morning and it was expected to rise by up to 20cm (0.7ft) by Wednesday.

The B4194 road between Bewdley and Stourport has been closed to traffic and will probably stay closed for a few days.

Police are asking people to use the Bewdley bypass unless they need to get into the town centre.

In Herefordshire, warnings along the River Wye have been downgraded to flood watch status.
