Woman hospitalised by bee attack
Bees in a hive
The woman was stung up to a dozen times
Prompt action by a medical team helped save the life of a woman in her 40s who went into severe shock after being stung by a swarm of bees in her garden.

The woman was tending a hive at her home at Newton St Margarets in Herefordshire when she was attacked and received up to a dozen stings.

She suffered an anaphylactic reaction, which can be life-threatening.

An ambulance team and a doctor gave her drugs at the scene and she was later airlifted to hospital in Hereford.

The incident follows a case in Evesham earlier this week where a 50-year-old man was bitten by a hamster and was hospitalised for anaphylactic shock.
