Race charge cab driver suspended
A Hereford taxi driver has been suspended after he was convicted of a racially aggravated offence involving another taxi driver.

The city's magistrates gave Clive Goodwin, of Chartwell Road, a two-year community order with compulsory unpaid work. He must also pay a fine.

Herefordshire Council said it had to ensure that all taxi drivers were fit and proper people to hold a licence.

Mr Goodwin's suspension will be reviewed at a future meeting.

Claire Berrow, licensing officer for Herefordshire Council, said: "We take very seriously all relevant convictions and take a hard line on drivers convicted during the term of their licence."
