Protest at inconvenient closure
Campaigners have gathered to protest over the closure of public toilets in a Worcestershire town.

They met to oppose the move in Upton Upon Severn on Saturday.

The move followed a decision by Malvern District Council that it could not afford to upgrade facilities in Tenbury Wells, Upton Upon Severn and Malvern.

But prospective Conservative candidate for West Worcestershire Harriet Balding said the toilets were redeemable - and visitors to the town needed them.

"If you're an elderly person, if you're with your kids, if you're shopping in the centre of town or you've just come out of one of the pubs, it's quite a long walk on the Hanley Road," she said.
