£5m boost for rivers' fisheries
Up to £5m is to be spent on improving fisheries in two Herefordshire rivers.

The final stages of restoration work is due to start on the rivers Arrow and the Lugg, which are tributaries of the River Wye, joining near Leominster.

A number of grants have been confirmed and three schemes will look at problems affecting fish stocks and wildlife.

Work will also take place to remove obstructions like dams and weirs. The Environment Agency said three fish passes have already been built.

Eight more are planned over the next two years.
