Reward offered after driver hurt
Joseph Paxton
The debris smashed through the driver's windscreen
Police have released pictures of a train driver who was seriously injured when bricks and concrete fell through the windscreen of his cab.

The driver, Joseph Paxton, a 56-year-old from Birmingham, is being treated at the Royal Worcester Hospital.

He was hit by a 45lbs (22kg) lump of bricks and mortar in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, on Sunday.

A £5,000 reward has been offered for the conviction of any offenders.

The EWS freight train was travelling between Llanwern and Brierley Hill in the Black Country when the masonry crashed through the windscreen.

Officers, who have been studying CCTV footage, believe the incident took place near to a footbridge in Offmore Road, Kiddemrinster and are appealing for witnesses.

The alarm was raised by the driver himself as he pressed the train emergency horn. It was heard by a member of the public who called police for assistance.
