Man bailed over cash card 'scam'

A man arrested over a credit card scam involving 70 customers at a petrol station in Worcester has been released on bail.

More than £19,000 was taken from the cards, which are believed to have been cloned overseas.

The police investigation centred on the BP petrol station in Castle Street after a call from one victim last week.

The garage was searched and police have advised other customers of the petrol station to double-check their accounts.

West Mercia Police said detectives were still investigating an earlier spate of similar crimes, some involving cards used at the same garage and also linked to criminals but were currently not linking the two sets of incidents.

BP has not commented on the case.
