Thunderstorms leave city flooded
A resident mops up after flood
Fire crews said the storm was very localised
At least 70 homes were flooded and fire crews dealt with nearly 200 calls after torrential rainstorms in Worcester.

One house in Powick was struck by lightning as thunderstorms replaced the hot weather of the last few days. No-one was injured.

Some roads had to be closed because of rising floodwater.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the calls started coming in at about 1915 BST on Wednesday.

He said it was a "hugely busy" night although the storm appeared to have been contained to a local area.
