People turn out to save hospital
Hundreds of people have taken part in a protest march in Worcestershire against proposed cuts to health services.

These include the downgrading of the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and threats to the Brook Haven Mental Health Unit.

The protests in Bromsgrove on Saturday were organised by the Save The Alex group.

Chairman Neil Stote said people do not want to make a 50-mile round trip to see loved ones at other hospitals.

There have been previous protests over threats to the maternity, paediatric and gynaecology services.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust wants to close the wards to save more than £20m.

If the changes are made then people in the north of the county would have to travel to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for more health services.
