Parents are being asked to seek medical advice after a group of children were seen playing with syringes in a Worcestershire park.
A passer-by saw the group of seven children, aged between five and eight, playing in Springfield Park, in Springfield Lane, Kidderminster.
The youngsters said they had found the syringes nearby and were throwing them into a brook.
Police said health risks were minimal but advice should be sought.
A spokesman also said parents should talk to their children about the dangers of playing with needles.
"Our advice is never to pick up a needle or syringe. Instead call the council who have facilities to dispose of them safely," he said.
