Suspected arson attack on mosque

A mosque has been targeted in suspected arson attack, police said.

The blaze started in the front of the mosque in Tan Bank, Wellington, just after midnight on Sunday.

Police have opened an inquiry into the incident and want anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around that time to get in touch with them.

Jim Cameron, director of operations at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, said they managed to stop the fire spreading inside the building.
