Inflatable belt to help farmers
A Herefordshire man has designed an inflatable conveyer belt which he is hoping will help fruit farmers speed up harvesting.

Tony Botsman came up with the idea after spending time picking olives.

He wanted to find a way to speed up the process of getting picked fruit from the rows to the collection points at the end of the rows.

His 150-metre inflatable conveyer belt is thought to be one of the longest portable systems of its kind.

Mr Botsman, originally from Australia, said he has had interest from firms around the world and is hoping his invention will make one of the last labour intensive industries left, more efficient.

The conveyor belt will be made from British parts and will be put together in Ledbury, Herefordshire.
