Students at a Worcester college are to give one-to-one mentoring to school children working towards their GCSEs in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Around 30 Learning Mentors at University College Worcester will support around 100 year 9-11 pupils.
Christopher Whitehead and Elgar High Schools, in Worcs, and Queen Elizabeth and John Masefield High Schools, in Herefordshire, are taking part.
The college is thought to be the first to pilot the National Mentoring Scheme.
