Chippy named best in the country
A fish and chip shop in Worcestershire has been crowned the best in the country at a ceremony in London.

Our Plaice, in West Hagley, scooped the award at the finals of a national competition on Wednesday.

The owners, Greg and Caroline Howard, beat off the challenge of nine other finalists to secure the honour following a nine-month judging process.

Mr Howard, who opened the shop two years ago, said he is delighted to have won the award after so much hard work.

He added: "It's an honour really, it's just great.

"We're celebrating our second anniversary on 12 February so it's absolutely wonderful.

"We've worked really hard - from the cleaner and the potato man in the morning, right the way through to the frying of the fish and chips. Everybody works so hard.

"It's a real team."
