Man arrested over fatal collision

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a woman was killed when the car she was travelling in collided with a wall.

The Vauxhall Carlton Estate car crashed on the B4224 Hampton Park Road as it left Hereford at 1.30am on Wednesday.

The woman died at the scene. Another passenger was taken to Hereford County Hospital with serious injuries.

The man is also suspected of causing death by dangerous driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.

The man was arrested at an address in Hereford on Wednesday.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out.
