Princess Anne in college visit
The Princess Royal is to open new buildings at a Worcestershire college that was devastated by fire.

North East Worcestershire College said Princess Anne would be visiting its Redditch campus on 9 March.

Her visit will mark the culmination in the redevelopment of the site, parts of which had to be rebuilt after a fire in 1999.

The blaze gutted the college's art department and caused extensive damage to other areas of the campus.

The centrepiece of the site is a building that houses a learning resources centre, silver service training restaurant, nursery and beauty salon.

The college said other buildings on the campus had also been refurbished.

Principal Neil Bromley said: "The princess takes a keen interest in education and we are delighted that she has expressed a particular wish to speak to individual students during the visit."

The college has another campus in Bromsgrove, which is also being redeveloped.
