Three young people have been killed in a high-speed crash between two cars in Dorset.
The two men and one woman who died had been at a volleyball tournament in Poole shortly before their Renault smashed into a Rover driven by a single man.
Firefighters had to cut the five occupants of the Renault free from the wreckage.
The driver was confirmed dead at the scene, two passengers died later, and the other two passengers were slightly injured.
'Terrible tragedy'
The driver of the Rover was also injured and taken to hospital in Bournemouth.
The crash happened at around 2100 BST at the junction of Queen Anne Drive and Lynwood Drive at Merley, between Wimborne and Poole.
The three dead people are thought to be a Cornwall man in his late 20s, an 18-year-old Poole man and a woman in her 20s from Essex.
A Dorset police spokesman said: "It's always a terrible tragedy when someone is killed in a road traffic collision, and my sympathies go out to the next of kin of those people who lost their lives.
"I am appealing for witnesses to all three road traffic collisions as well as people with any information that could help our detailed investigations to come forward."
