Two people quizzed over explosion in Hampshire

Two people have been arrested after an explosion outside a house in Eastleigh in Hampshire.

A device was placed on a driveway in Chadwick Road and exploded at about 0240 BST causing extensive damage to three vehicles but no one was injured.

Det Ch Insp Dick Pearson said: "We believe this was an isolated incident and there is nothing to suggest this was linked to any act of terrorism."

A man, 56, and woman, 58, both from the Eastleigh area, are being questioned.

The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit attended the scene which remains cordoned off. No homes were evacuated.
