The boyfriend of a woman found dead along with her baby daughter in Hampshire has been arrested on suspicion of their murders.

Stephanie Bellinger, 24, and her 10-month-old daughter Lili were discovered at their home in Totton, near Southampton, on Saturday.

Anthony Marsh, 21, was arrested by a police officer in Fareham on Monday.

Tests showed Ms Bellinger died of stab wounds but it has not been confirmed how Lili died.

Police started a search for Mr Marsh over the weekend.

Happy and smiling

A spokesman said: "Officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation."

Ms Bellinger and her daughter were found dead inside their home in Myrtle Avenue.

Earlier Ms Bellinger's family paid tribute to her saying they had been left with a "huge hole" in their lives.

They said: "Stephanie was a fun-loving free spirit who was always happy and smiling.

"Stephanie was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and mother.

"Lili was a bouncing, happy little baby who was a delight to be with, a little chatterbox who brought joy to our lives.

"We now have a huge hole in our lives which we have to try and come to terms with."

Flowers have been left outside the family home in a cul-de-sac, which remains cordoned off by police.

The results of a post-mortem examination on Lili are expected on Tuesday.

Hampshire Constabulary said the police officer who made the arrest earlier in Fareham spotted a man matching Mr Marsh's description.
