An inquest into the deaths of three family members shot in Hampshire has been opened and adjourned.

Four-year-old Maisie Harrison-Copland and her mother, Julie Harrison, died after apparently being shot by the girl's father, Andrew Copland.

The mother and child were found with serious head injuries when neighbours called police to Church Hill in Aldershot on 29 December.

Mr Copland was also found dead at the property, having been shot.

Funeral arrangements

Maisie died at the scene and her mother died in hospital the following day.

Hampshire police said post-mortem test on the three bodies showed they had all died from single gunshot wounds to the head.

North East Hampshire Coroner Andrew Bradley adjourned the full hearing until 31 March at Alton Magistrates' Court.

Hampshire Constabulary said funeral arrangements for the three had not been finalised.
