Power is cut to hundreds of homes in Hampshire

Hundreds of homes in east Hampshire were left without power on Sunday morning after a fault in an electricity supply station.

Up to 900 properties in the Horndean and Cowplain area were affected.

The electricity cut was caused by a fault in the high voltage network at the local supply station, a spokeswoman for Southern Electric said.

She said only Horndean Bilateral School was still without power by late afternoon.
