Cruise ship man on cocaine charge

A man has been charged after cocaine with an estimated street value of £70,000 was seized on a cruise liner.

The 23-year-old was arrested by the UK Border Agency as he disembarked the Black Watch liner at Southampton docks, on Thursday.

Ben Hartland, from Bletchingley, Surrey, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court charged with the importation of cocaine.

Mr Hartland was bailed to reappear at court on 15 January.

A 20-year-old woman also arrested has been released on police bail.
