Plea over man with head injuries

A man has been discovered with serious head injuries in a Southampton park.

The 58-year-old local man was found by a member of the public on Southampton Common at about 0755 GMT.

Det Insp Simon Baker, from Hampshire police, said: "He is being treated at Southampton General Hospital and we need to find out what happened to him."

Police officers want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious on the common between 2000 GMT last Friday and 0800 GMT on Saturday.
