Woman dies after M27 bridge fall

A woman who fell from a bridge on to the M27 has died from her injuries.

Sally Reeves, 64, of Lingwood Close in Southampton, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries but died later.

Police were called to junction four of the westbound M27 at Chilworth, at about 1600 BST on Tuesday.

Mrs Reeves's family said in a statement that she was a "wonderful" wife, mother and grandmother. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

The incident closed two lanes of the carriageway, causing delays for motorists.
