Motorway lanes shut for repairs

Part of the M27 motorway in Hampshire were closed overnight to allow for repairs following a fuel spillage.

A collision between a Ford Focus car and two HGVs sent diesel over the carriageway, causing traffic chaos between junction 8 and 9 on Tuesday.

The incident also resulted in another collision further down the motorway towards junction 9. No-one was hurt.

The eastbound lanes between junction 8 and 9 were closed from 2200 until 0500 GMT for road surface repairs.
