A man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a jewellery shop on the Isle of Wight.

Two masked men escaped with 15 watches from the Benzie yachting jewellery shop in High Street, Cowes, last Friday, after threatening a member of staff.

Oliver Mazirel, of Ivydore Avenue, Worthing, West Sussex, was charged with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm and remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday.

A woman, aged 23, also of Worthing, has been released on police bail.
