Detectives investigating a double fatal stabbing in Hampshire have charged two men with murder.

Matthew Stacey, 31, was found with stab wounds in Alma Street, Gosport, on Friday morning. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Richard Bateman, 45, was found dead in his house nearby. Police described the killings as drugs-related.

Samuel Johnson, 19, and Andre Sampson, 21, both from London, are due before Portsmouth Magistrates' Court later.

The victims' families paid tribute to them.

'Close-knit'

Mr Stacey's mother Brenda said: "We are a close family and at our happiest when we are all here together.

"His father and I are devastated, I don't think we'll ever get over this."

His sister Rachel said: "Matt was more than a brother to me - we had a strong bond and went everywhere together. I was really proud of him.

"He was extremely popular and had a wide but close-knit group of friends.

"Words just can't describe how much we are going to miss him."

Mr Bateman's brother David Bateman said: "It is so difficult for us all coming to terms with this unexpected loss.

"He will be missed so terribly by his family and friends."
