New flights to Liverpool launched

Flights to Liverpool from Southampton have been unveiled.

Eastern Airways will launch the three times a day service from Monday.

The airline will also increase its flights to Aberdeen from three to five each weekday and introduce a 0700 BST departure to Newcastle.

It said that the new Liverpool schedules are "primarily aimed" at business travellers heading to Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and North Wales.

Kevin Brown, managing director at Southampton Airport, said: "The new route to Liverpool and additional services to Aberdeen are great news for the region."
