Man charged over playground death

A man has been charged with the murder of a teenager who died in hospital five months after being attacked in a Southampton park.

Luke Woolf, 18, was found with a serious head injury in a playground in Northam on 25 October 2008.

He underwent surgery and remained in intensive care in Southampton General Hospital, where he died on 30 March.

Scott Robert Townson, 20, of Radcliffe Road in Southampton, has been charged with Mr Woolf's murder.

He is due to appear before New Forest Magistrates Court in Lyndhurst.
