Man found shot dead in city named

A man who died after being found with a gunshot wound in Southampton has been named as William Foxton.

He was found in Rockstone Place on Tuesday afternoon. Tests showed he died from a single gunshot to the head.

Mr Foxton, 65, of Canton Street in the city, had previously served in the army and had recently worked as a defence contractor in Afghanistan, police said.

A pistol was recovered at the scene. Police said they did not believe the death was suspicious.
