Man killed in A3 crash is named

A 33-year-old man who died in a crash on a main road through north Hampshire, has been identified by police.

Nicholas Whay, of Longfield Road, Ash, near Aldershot, died when the Audi LDV van he was driving collided with a Land Rover on the Sheet link towards the A3.

Mr Whay died at the scene of the collision near Petersfield on Sunday evening.

The 71-year-old Land Rover driver and his 40-year-old passenger, both from Rogate, West Sussex, were uninjured.

Part of the A3 was closed for five-and-a-half hours while an investigation took place.
