Police want people to search their gardens for Ms Poolton's belongings.

Police hunting the missing car keys, mobile phone and a flip flop of a woman found stabbed to death in her car are to deliver 1,000 appeal posters.

The body of Paula Poolton, 40, of Titchfield, Fareham, Hampshire, was found in her Peugeot 206 close to Swanwick railway station on 28 October.

She had been missing for 11 days. Officers want people to search their gardens for her missing belongings.

Two men, aged 52 and 55, held on suspicion of her murder, are on bail.

They are from the Fareham area.

Recovering these items could be vital to our investigation
Det Ch Insp Darren O'Callaghan

Det Ch Insp Darren O'Callaghan, from Hampshire Constabulary, said: "At this time of year people do not spend much time in their gardens, so it is possible that Paula's possessions may be lying undiscovered in the undergrowth in someone's garden.

"Recovering these items could be vital to our investigation and I would urge anyone who lives in the vicinity of Swanwick and Titchfield to check their gardens, hedges and pathways to see if Paula's phone, flip flop or car key is there."

Ms Poolton's funeral was held at St Leonard's Church in Church Lane, Busledon, near Southampton on 11 December.

She was last seen on CCTV footage shopping at Tesco in Bursledon, at about 2130 BST on 17 October.
