Bank worker threatened with knife

A man has been arrested following an armed robbery at a bank in Hampshire.

At 1145 GMT a man armed with a knife walked into the Natwest bank in High Street, Hamble, and threatened a female member of staff.

An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over and the robber fled. A man was detained in the Hamble area a short time later.

Det Sgt Martin Myers, of Hampshire Police, said: "We continue to investigate the circumstances."

He added: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact us."

The woman was not injured.
