A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.

The address in Holt Way and a property in nearby Four Acre Coppice have been cordoned off by officers.

Det Supt Kevin Walton, of Hampshire police, said: "This is an unusual and isolated event and we have specialist trained officers out in the area speaking to the community to enable us to establish exactly what happened.

"Extra officers will be on patrol and providing high-visibility reassurance and I would urge anyone with information to speak to them."
