A woman who died in a crash on the Isle of Wight was returning home from an appointment for leukaemia treatment.
Hazel Cottrell, 77, was killed on Tuesday with Janet Turner, 74, when the Toyota they were in collided with a Seat at the Blacklands Lane junction.
A man and woman in the Seat suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to St Mary's Hospital.
Mrs Cottrell had been returning home from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, where Mrs Turner did voluntary work.
Mrs Cottrell was a day patient at the centre after being diagnosed four years ago.
'Sorely missed'
In a statement Mrs Cottrell's family said: "Hazel's husband and family are devastated at the loss of a loving, supportive lady who was always there for her family and friends."
She and her husband had celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary earlier this year with family and friends.
Mrs Turner of Newnham Road, knew Mrs Cottrell of Bettesworth Road, through her work at the hospice.
Mrs Turner's son Craig said in a statement: "Mum had for many years spent much of her time doing voluntary work for her local community.
"She served on the Island Arthritis Council and assisted many charities with a supply of homemade cakes.
"Mum will be sorely missed."
