A woman, thought to be in her 30s, has been stabbed in the neck, chest and stomach outside a restaurant in a Hampshire town.
The unnamed victim was repeatedly stabbed outside the Gregson Grill in the Bridgemary area of Gosport on Friday at about 2100 BST.
The woman, who underwent surgery at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, is in a stable condition, police said.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
A police spokesman said: "Officers would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and it is believed that the victim knows her attacker."
