Van carrying gas cylinders ablaze

An exclusion zone has been put in place and a road closed on the Isle of Wight after a van carrying gas cylinders caught alight.

The back of the vehicle is used as a workshop and contained three cylinders of argon, acetylene and oxygen.

Police were called to the incident in Folly Lane, Whippingham, at 1528 BST.

The cylinders were being cooled and fire crews warned the blaze was likely to burn well into the night. The fire's cause is not yet known.

Folly Lane was closed at the junction with Whippingham Road.
