Thousands of homes in power loss

About 1,300 homes in north Hampshire have been left without electricity due to a power cut.

Southern Electric said a total of nearly 3,000 homes lost their supply in the Tadley area at lunchtime.

More than half those properties have since been reconnected, while the remainder of homes should have power again by 1600 BST.

The source of the power outage was still under investigation, the spokesman added.
