A murderer stuffed the body of a woman in a suitcase before taking it to a wealthy village and setting it alight, police have revealed.
The remains of the unidentified woman were found on Thursday in Dummer, Hampshire, by a dog walker on a bridleway leading from the village.
The victim was aged between her late teens to early 30s.
Det Ch Insp Gary O'Flaherty, of Hampshire police, said the woman was already dead when she was set alight.
Her 5ft 6in body was found in a "sizeable" Eagle suitcase although police have not revealed how the woman was killed
At a press conference at the site on Monday, Mr O'Flaherty said: "Despite extensive inquiries we still do not know who this woman is.
"We believe she was white, aged in her late teens to early 30s and of slender build. She had blonde or light brown hair.
Police said the dead woman was wearing a jacket from New Look

"We would like to speak to anyone who saw a vehicle in the area on Wednesday or Thursday."
A team of more than 60 officers are working on the case, assisted by forensic teams and scenes of crime specialists.
Police have said the woman was wearing a wallpaper print New Look hooded top and she was also wearing an unusual watch distributed by a company called Hama.
The Basingstoke-based consumer electronics firm did not sell the watches but said they were given to selected business customers or employees.
Dummer is home to the mother of the Duchess of York and the family of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson have an estate there.
