Inquiry after pilot hurt in crash

A 65-year-old pilot suffered minor injuries when his kit aircraft crashed into a hedge in Hampshire.

The man was trying to take off at the Chilbolton airfield, near Andover on Saturday afternoon.

But the single engine Rans S6 kit plane veered off the runway and crashed into a hedge. The craft's propeller and undercarriage were damaged.

Hampshire Police confirmed the incident was being investigated by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
