Student subjected to sex attack

A 19-year-old student has been seriously sexually assaulted in Southampton.

The woman was walking through Palmerston Park, towards Hoglands Park, at about 0600 BST on Monday when she was grabbed by a man.

Her screams alerted another man who shouted at her attacker, causing him to run off towards Above Bar Street.

Police are appealing for anyone in the area between 0530 and 0630 BST to contact them.
